  • Hi
Just canceled my broadband because of the level of service and inability to resolve the issue by bt, I change over from 1meg to 8meg line expecting to get may be 1.5meg at best 2meg based on information from bt. Unfortunatly I get 0.5meg. I have checked the line and Also used my MDA varioII to ensure it was not my pc, I also used the 3g Tmobile network and compared my pc with my phone and on this I get 1.8meg and stable. India claimed I had a fault with the line the UK engineer said nothing wrong. Came round and did a line check, I should recieve 2meg, He could not explain why I did not recieve this speed, it was between the ip provider and me, his bit was ok. All bt india wanted to do was send another engineer out. Then when they contacted the uk to arrange an engineer it suddenly changed to the reason for the slow speed was the bad weather we have been having (i have had the problem since connecting in Dec 06, the bad weather only started last week. So I phoned to cancel my contract as product was inferior to my previous product and I can get a 0.5meg line for alot less than the £27 I am currently paying, no surprise from BT, to cancel my contract will cost me £270 as I have a 12 month contract, I guess the only way I will get my money back is to take through the small claims court. I must say though the tmobile 3g network worked well through my pc and the speed was very stable, I am currently looking into this as an alternative, based on the response to my issue from bt I have now cancelled my line completly.
Good luck with trying to get compensation from BT but I suspect this will fall on death ears, not in the script.
Just set up blog and linke to this site.
